This is our family’s own villa in Chaul, standing near the Tulad Devi Temple on the Alibag-Revadanda Road, and guests walk to the beach for sunrise before the kitchen has finished the first chai.
Why stay on the Revdanda side of Alibaug
Nagaon and Alibag beaches take the weekend crowds and the water-sports traffic. Revdanda is the quiet end: casuarina trees, black volcanic sand, the 16th-century Portuguese fort wall running right into the sea, and space to put 25 people on the beach without touching another group. If your idea of a villa weekend is noise, Nagaon is 15 minutes away. If it is peace, you sleep on the right side.

A weekend here, hour by hour
Saturday: check in at 1 PM, pool till sunset, drive 5 minutes to Revdanda Beach at 6 for the light behind the fort wall, dinner from our kitchen at 9. Sunday: walk to Tulad Devi Temple next door or drive 15 minutes to Korlai Fort and its lighthouse before it gets hot, breakfast back at the villa, pool till check-out at 11, lunch stop at Nagaon on the way home. That is the default plan roughly 660 groups have run since 2023, adjusted for how late Saturday night went.
Getting here
From Mumbai: ferry or RoRo from the Gateway to Mandwa, then a 45-minute drive south through Alibag town on the Revadanda road. Driving the whole way is 2.5 to 3 hours via Karnala. From Pune it is around 3 hours via Tamhini Ghat. The last grocery and ATM stop is Alibag town, 20 minutes before the villa; Chaul village covers daily needs.
